iClass Technology Added to Acess 700® PIP1 and Access 700® WI1

Encryption, Mutual Authentication Produce

Corbin Russwin (www.corbinrusswin.com), a leading innovator and manufacturer of architectural hardware and security solutions for over 160 years, and ASSA ABLOY company, has introduced HID® iCLASS® 13.56 MHz smart card technology to its Access 700® PIP1 series of Intelligent Power over Ethernet (PoE) products, as well as its Access 700® PWI1 Series of Intelligent WiFi products.

The iCLASS technology improves the security of the locks by making physical access control more powerful through encryption and mutual authentication while offering versatile interoperability. At the same time, iCLASS is user-friendly, delivering the convenience, affordability and reliability of proximity technology.  ASSA ABLOY Group brands are the only providers of a full range of access control solutions with full iCLASS authentication.

Adding iCLASS technology to both the Access 700 PIP1 and Access 700 PWI1 lines enhances their already superior performance and functionality.  The Access 700 PIP1 intelligent lockset communicates via Ethernet network to provide campus housing and facilities with comprehensive access control.  It is compliant with IEEE 802.3af specifications for Power over Ethernet and provides customized access to facilities - using magstripe and PIN code technologies - with standard network cabling.  Using reliable communication and power from one Ethernet (CAT5e or higher) cable, the Access 700 PIP1 combines with ASSA ABLOY's PERSONA Campus™ or approved third-party OEM software to integrate seamlessly into transactional and housing systems.

Offering campus housing and facilities with comprehensive access control, the Access 700 PWI1 provides the facilities manager with unsurpassed functional capability.  It connects as often or as little as specified by an administrator; while decisions about user access are controlled locally, the 700 PWI1 connects on a customized schedule to transmit events to the host system and retrieve updates to user files.  This enables system administrators to modify user access rules and review historical event logs.

With its on-board memory, the Access 700 PWI1 supports 2,400 users per lock and provides an audit trail of the last 10,000 events.  Like the Access 700 PIP1, the Access 700 PWI1 integrate seamlessly into transactional and housing systems via ASSA ABLOY’s PERSONA Campus™ or approved third-party OEM software.
